Re-scoring the final 10 minutes of Nosferatu (1922) was one of my first exercises with a silent film. My approach aimed to have the orchestra empathise with the death of the film’s eponymous character. Rather than focusing on the townspeople's freedom from Count Orlok, I wanted the audience to mourn his passing as he feasts one last time.
